Merchant Card Service - About Us

'Merchant Card Service, Inc.' realized in July 1998 that the merchant service industry was in need of a business entity that would unravel the seemingly complex processes involved in transactions and would educate and consult retail outlets, restaurants, hotels, and businesses by providing them with the resources and tools necessary to fulfill their specific needs for hardware, software, payment gateways and services needed to process business transactions without paper money.

Since our inception, the credit card industry has evolved far beyond what merchants could have envisioned. As checks and credit card transactions moved from remote desktop locations, other than their own, we established a unique business model that would encompass the whole of these products and services with continued educational materials and resources.

Prior to our establishment merchants would have to deal with each specific entity to fulfill their transactional needs, which were often complex and perplexing. These merchant service providers were predominantly working the retail industry i.e. the brick and mortar companies. We forged ahead to assist online merchants while establishing relationships with vendors to compliment the needs of both retail and internet merchants.

In the beginning, Merchant Card Service, Inc. aligned itself with the leading merchant service provider (MSP) in the industry. In those early days in the late 3rd QTR of 1998, we were doing leases on equipment, averaging $79.95 per month; but, as this was the norm, resulting in a final lease pay out total of $2579.00 for a credit card machine that retailed for less than $500.00. Further, most of these leases had a 10% buy out and the end of the lease; very few had a $1.00 buy out.

After learning the industry inside tracks along with the secrets know only to a few at this time, we built a business model to encompass the needs and education of business owners by providing merchant service equipment, supplies and support at a reasonable cost and in a format easy to understand.

Our full service product lines provided all the services necessary for a merchant to conduct credit transactions electronically, over the phone at first, then later via the web thru payment gateways using encrypted data first over copper or fiber lines and now, via wireless transactions. We continue to take advantage of technological advances while facilitating such evolution for the US market area to provide reasonable pricing for equipment, software for our customers.

The name 'Merchant Card Service' may be often used or misused but we remain the original Merchant Service Solutions ProviderSM dedicated to keeping you informed of our every changing market with the products, services and consulting needs you need to succeed.
