Face -To-Face Credit Card Qualified

  • The card's magnetic stripe must be swiped through the terminal.
  • An electronic authorization for the exact sale amount 1 is received. Authorizations received via voice or telephone request do not qualify
  • The authorization request and the transmission of the sale must be a single transaction. A "ticket only" transaction using a previous authorization request does not qualify.
  • The batch is settled within one (1) calendar day from the date of the authorization request.
  • The card is not a Business, Corporate, Purchase, or Foreign card.

Face-To-Face Check Card Qualified

  • All requirements for CPS/Retail.
  • Settled amount must equal authorization amount. If transaction fails authorization tolerance, it will qualify as EIRF or Non Qualified.
  • Rate ONLY applicable to U.S. issued cards, non-US will qualify at eh credit category.

Face-To-Face Credid Card Mid-Qualified

  • The card's magnetic stripe must be swiped through the terminal OR the correct information from the card must be key-entered as prompted by the terminal or software.
  • An electronic authorization is received. Authorization received via voice or telephone request do not qualify.
  • The batch is settled within two (2) calendar days from the date of the authorization request.
  • The card is not a Business, Corporate, Purchase, or Foreign card.

Face-To-Face Check Card Mid-Qualified

  • All requirements of CPS/Retail Key Entered.
  • This rate is only applicable to U.S. issued check cards, non-US wil qualify at the credit category.

Face-To-Face Credit Card Non-Qualified

  • The transaction is not authorized or the authorization is received via voice or telephone request.
  • The batch is settled three (3) or more calendar days from the date of the authorization request.
  • The card is a Business, Corporate, Purchase, or Foreign card.

Face-To-Face Check Card Non-Qualified

  • All requirements of CPS/Car Not Present.
  • This rate is only applicable to U.S. issued check cards, non-US wil qualify at the credit category.

You choose how to set up your merchant account and what cards and services to accept.

  • Your Chase merchant application sets up Visa and Mater Card, new Discover, Amex, JCB require additional approval on same application. If you have an existing number for Discover and Amex the field to enter the number is proved on application.
  • Swiped Cards (Qualified Rate Transactions) - Averages 10-20%, these cards are read by the magnetic strip on the back of the card by your credit card machine.
  • Debit cards (where customer enters a PIN number to complete the transaction) - A new PIN Pad will be exchanged with yours; includes a 6' cord and Encryption for: $75.00 . If not taking Debit it's time to look again, these transactions have a fixed transaction cost and NO discount rate for each transaction.
  • Check Cards - Averages 30-55% of your swiped transaction count, depending on what your average ticket size is, larger transactions are more likely to be credit cards.
    Note: These card types are moving to Loyalty and Reward Check Cards and they qualify as a MID Qualified Check Card transactions.
  • Loyalty, Reward and Frequent flyer Credit Cards are classified as MID Qualified, Average 25-35% of your count
  • Corporate and Foreign Cards: are classified as NON Qualified, Average 10-20% of your count.
    Note: If you customers are more B2B, then you will have checks cards that are Corporate and Foreign Cards.
  • Check Guarantee Services including ACH via Web and POS units and Gift Cards.

Each card type has several categories that qualify at a specific discount rate: Qualified, Mid Qualified, Non Qualified rates and each of these has their own separate check card rates, therefore you should have (6) Six rate categories' on you statements.
