Mobitex Network to be Disabled
Overview: Velocita Wireless has announced that the Mobitex network will be available "through at least the first quarter of 2008". This network is currently accessed by U.S. clients using Nurit 8000 and Nurit 3010 POS devices.
In light of this news, and effective immediately, the Nurit 8000 is now classified as a Mature product. A Mature product is supported but no longer sold or boarded. The Nurit 3010 has previously been classified as Mature. These products are designated as Mature on the Product Placemat located on the Partner Portal.
Merchant Impact
All merchants currently using Nurit POS terminals using the Mobitex network for long-range wireless processing must obtain a different POS solution.
If you have any merchants using these products, please make arrangements for them to obtain a different POS solution.
Our current Class - A certified solution for long range wireless in the U.S. is the VeriFone Vx610. Information on the VeriFone Vx610 can be found on the Partner Portal.

Please note that this bulletin applies to terminals on the Mobitex network only. Other wireless devices such as the Apriva GPRS are not affected.
